The Future of Photography
We have seen all types of cameras in the years of past, from poloroid, to 10mm and 35mm, slide cameras, and eventually moving into the realm of digital media and photography. From your point-and-shoot handheld pocket camera, to high powered digital SLR's, the world of digital photography has made a huge leap. Almost every American has a digital camera of some sort now to capture and send images across the globe to family and friends, businesses, and random strangers, or just simply upload to a website for viewing and sharing.
Now we all know how much it sucks to take a picture and for some reason we can't get it right and it comes out blurry, distorted, or out of focus. Then if you are technologically advanced and know a little bit, you could try to restore the photo by going into photoshop. This takes time and money for the program, or for someone to do it, which is something that isn't really easy to do because of all the hassle.
Well soon to come is your newest solution to all this hassle. Introducing a brand new company willing to take a risk by investing into the highly competitive world of photography and digital media technology. Lytro has now developed a new software and firmware based theory of light technology that allows a user to repair and fix a blurry picture and choosing what they want to be in focus. It uses a array of lenses in a small space with a censor chip that captures light at all different angles gaining a high definition and resolution in the still shot taken.
Lytro uses a series of technology only most recent and not yet even released into the market with originally developed engineering which they call "Light Field Technology," It takes all the color available as a normal point and shoot would, but uses more lenses and a new concept chip which arranges colors into a pattern of unseen frequencies to the naked eye, and uses those colors to translate into something that can be expressed.
Another cool thing about this new concept is the ability to view the cinematic shots in a three-dimensional array that will allow you a small sense of what it looks like under full 3-D view, even without a 3-D TV or display adaptor.
What does this mean for consumers? Basically, it means even the worst most out of blur photo taken can be restored to how you meant it to look. Better Memories, wedding shots, portraits, and a lot less stress about rather or not the picture will turn out.
They are rumored to first market through Amazon.com and Lytro website. Release date is uncertain at this point. Stay tuned periodically for release details.
